Battle of the Bands set for March 16

FALLBROOK – It doesn’t matter if a band plays at parties, dances, or just in a garage; the March 16 Battle of the Bands at the Fallbrook Community Center is open to all bands with members between 13 and 19 years of age. If selected, each band will set up, perform and battle it out for a $200 first place cash award, a $100 second place cash award, trophies, and other donated prizes and bragging rights. This year’s Battle of the Bands will also accept video shorts and original art work from 13 to 19 year olds.

A completed application, band photo, and at least three tunes must be submitted to the community center office by 5 p.m. on March 1. Video shorts and original artwork entries are due by March 8.

The top bands will be invited to perform in front of an audience and be rated by a panel of judges on Saturday, March 16. The competition will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Admission for spectators is $5/person; snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

The Battle of the Bands is sponsored by Friends of Fallbrook Community Center, County of San Diego Parks and Recreation and Fallbrook Guitar Company. For applications and information, email [email protected], contact the Community Center at (760) 728-1671 or stop by the office at 341 Heald Lane, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
