Books available for Book Talk selections

The Friends of the Fallbrook Library announce the acquisition of 30 books for their Book Talks series. Ten copies each of “My Brother Michael” by Mary Stewart for its January 11 event, “Beethoven: His Spiritual Development” by J. W. Sullivan for May 10 and “Dear Theo: Autobiography of Vincent Van Gogh” by Irving Stone scheduled for June 14 will soon be on the shelves for checkout, says Friends of the Fallbrook Library member Mary Polhemus, who is in charge of acquisitions. Books will be available at the library one month before its featured date.

In the event the San Diego County Library system cannot provide adequate copies of “My Life in France” for the Community Read in April, additional copies of it will be acquired, says Polhemus.

Book Talks selections can be purchased at The Book Nook, 129 East Hawthorne, and may be featured at The Bottom Shelf, the Friends of the Fallbrook Library bookstore located in the Fallbrook Library.

Next up in the Book Talks series is “The Professor and the Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity, and the Making of The Oxford English Dictionary” by Simon Winchester, scheduled for October 12. It will be led by Gloria Mattson. For more information about Book Talks contact Mattson at (760)723-2403.
