Candidate Forum important

I would like to personally thank the Fallbrook Democratic Club for sponsoring the Candidate Forum of the Fallbrook Union High School District Board of Trustees, which was held at FPUD on Thursday, September 7. Approximately 100 people were in attendance to hear the candidates give opening statements and respond to pre-determined questions with imposed time limits. In my opinion, this event was well organized, and it covered important issues, which the residents of Fallbrook need to be made aware of concerning Fallbrook High School.

This is an important election and the residents of Fallbrook need to be made aware of important issues. The high school and its impact affect all of us who live in Fallbrook. At stake are the students themselves; these very students are those who will play an important part in the future, and they deserve to receive the best education possible.

It is my hope that the North County Times and Village News will continue to cover the high school board meetings leading up to the November 7 election and which are open to the public. In addition, the AAUW (American Association of University Women) will be hosting another forum at the high school in October. Please watch for the date and plan to attend and hear the candidates respond to the issues.
