Daughters of Norway to learn about Hulda Garborg

FALLBROOK – The Daughters of Norway, Hulda Garborg Lodge #49, will hold its first meeting of the new fiscal year on Sat., Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. at the Rainbow Valley Grange Hall, 2160 Rainbow Valley Blvd.

The program will focus on the lodge’s namesake, Hulda Garborg. Hulda was a Norwegian writer, novelist, playwright, poet, folk dancer, and theater instructor. She promoted all aspects of Norwegian culture, especially bunads, the traditional costume.

New members will be initiated into the lodge at this meeting.

All women of Scandinavian heritage are welcome to attend. Following the cultural program is pot luck lunch at noon and a business meeting at 12:45 p.m. For additional information, call (760) 489-9502 or email [email protected]
