Kings celebrate 50th anniversary

Francis King and Sylvia Wysocki were married 50 years ago on September 1, 1956, at St. John’s Church in Watertown, CT.

On the day of their wedding, they moved out to California, making the trip by car via Canada. For 29 years they resided in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County. There they raised five children, Gerard King, Suzanne Baumann, Kathleen Potter, William King and Daniel King. They also have nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Francis was a CPA, a partner in the firm of Brown, Lloyd and Stevenson in Alhambra, CA. Sylvia’s career was being his wife and the mother of his children along with being a school volunteer.

In 1987 they retired to Fallbrook, back to country living and the good life. They love to travel, play golf and have been active in the Catholic Church throughout the years.

When asked the secret of their long and happy marriage, they replied, “We took our wedding vows seriously and God was ever-present in our family life.”
