Letter Carriers Food Drive May 11

FALLBROOK – On Saturday, May 11, letter carriers will collect food in every neighborhood across the nation to help stock local food bank shelves that are struggling to keep up with the demand.

Local residents can help stamp out hunger by leaving a bag of non-perishable food donations next to their mailbox before their mail delivery arrives that day. Letter carriers will do the rest. Collected donations will benefit Fallbrook Food Pantry which currently serves over 600 families every week.

The second Saturday in May was specifically chosen for this annual event because pantry shelves filled up through winter-holiday generosity are often bare or nearly so by late spring.
