We finally found a great petting zoo, market

This weekend my family saw an ad in the Village News about a farmer’s market/petting zoo in Rainbow. I thought it was the one by The Oaks of Rainbow and the nearby mini market. We got out of the car and looked at all the vendors, antiques, etc. We couldn’t find the petting zoo, so we went into the market.

Being a Fallbrook resident for over 35 years and proud to live where anyone and everyone is willing to help you find anything you need to find, I was surprised to learn that was not the case at the mini market that day. I asked the cashier about a place that had a petting zoo and marketplace. She said she had no idea where a petting zoo would be. I turned to ask a young lady who also worked there. She said, “I think that’s up the street at the other market.” I thanked her for the information. Now, my son would be able to see the petting zoo. I could tell as soon as we walked out that the young lady was going to get into trouble for telling us about the other market.

The place we were looking for is Sorenson Ranch. You get off on Rainbow Valley Boulevard, turn right, then go left at the stop sign. It is a quarter of a mile on the right side. This place is “A+” all the way. They had the best fruit, kid’s cowboy gifts, patio furniture and a great petting zoo! There are picnic areas for public use and a beautiful manmade creek. They are only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I want to thank the owner for bringing such a great place close to the Friendly Village.
