12th Annual Wildlife Art Show; 'Reflections of Nature' May 6-8

FALLBROOK — The Art Center at Fallbrook will host “Reflections of Nature,” a national wildlife art show that will present work by internationally renowned Artist of the Year Lyn St. Claire of Victor, ID; Feature Artists Melanie Fain of Boerne, TX, and Susan Labouri of Big Bear Lake, CA; along with new works by 29 invited artists.

The invited artists will display and sell the best wildlife art in the country in two venues located across the street from each other. Demonstrations will occur throughout the show.

A new addition to the show this year is a gift shop that will feature wildlife-inspired jewelry and more.

This year marks the passing of the baton from past show directors Byrn & JoAnne Watson to the staff at the Art Center. For the past six years, Byrn and JoAnne have done an exemplary job in growing the show to its current status. Prior to their tenure, this honor was held by Bob & Betty Ann Underwood, who worked with Gamini Ratnavira, the show’s founding artist.

“Reflections of Nature” began as a fundraiser for the Fallbrook Land Conservancy’s campaign to acquire and maintain open space. Visitors enjoy sculpture at the Village Square, also a Village Association project, and paintings at the Art Center.

In addition, a display of works by area students, the Junior Wildlife Art Show, is held in conjunction with this exhibition at the Art Center’s companion nonprofit facility, the Art Studios of Fallbrook, located at 310 E. Alvarado Street, just one block from the Art Center. For times, please call (760) 728-6383.

The Art Center at Fallbrook is located at 103 South Main (at Alvarado). Hours for the show are Friday, May 6, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, May 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
