Bonsall Chamber presents honors at annual dinner event

FALLBROOK – At its annual dinner and awards event held Feb. 19 at the Valley Fort Steakhouse, select members of the Bonsall Chamber of Commerce were honored.

One of the most distinguished awards presented, for Lifetime Achievement, was given to Bob Leonard.

Leonard, who has worked in and around the area for 40 years, served as the CEO of the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce for 15 years, making him the longest serving CEO of any Chamber in the County of San Diego. He was appointed to the board of directors of the Bonsall Chamber of Commerce in 2012. Leonard was asked to form a governmental affairs committee to benefit the community by creating an opportunity for communication with all the different levels of government which influence the area. He has arranged meetings with County, State Senate and Assembly members, and Federal Congressmen along with community leaders.

Additional award winners included: Citizen of the Year – Chris Howard, Sponsor of the Year – San Diego Gas & Electric, Member of the Year – Dale Martin, Best New Business – Aston’s Clothing Boutique, and Dr. Mary Ramsden was also recognized for earning the Rotary Peace Award.
