HIGHLIGHT

K. D. Van Antwerp

American Legion

Phone: (760) 451-9344

In 1983, K. D. “Van” Antwerp relocated to Bonsall and joined the Fallbrook American Legion Post 776. He has held several key leadership positions and is now the commander of that post. He served in the United States Air Force from 1943- 1946.

He worked many years for the Paramount Studios and then for Channel 7 as part of the News Crew. He has many stories during the time he worked for both of those companies.

Because The Legion supports many causes directed to children, “Van” has made a personal commitment to the local youth because he said, “They are the future of our country”. He currently attends both the Bonsall and Fallbrook “Student of the Month” recognition awards. He presents an American Legion medallion to each student being honored with their name engraved on it. His comment to each student is very humorous and unforgettable. He donates to many local children activities, participates in the Poppy Fundraiser each year and is asked to lead the flag salute at various community events.

His caring ways has made him a very special person in the community. The Bonsall Chamber of Commerce has honored him by giving him a lifetime membership. He is a loving friend to many. We salute you, K.D. Van Antwerp!
