Kerley and Schuette receive Kiwanis Club awards

Larry “Mac” McLeland, Governor of the California-Nevada-Hawaii District of Kiwanis International, presented Distinguished Service Awards to Vice President Cathy Kerley and Secretary Walt Schuette during a recent visit to Kiwanis Division 37. Both Kerley and Schuette are members of the Kiwanis Club of Fallbrook in Division 37.

Liz Ferguson, Lieutenant Governor, Division 37, hosted the event at the Olympic Resort Hotel. This prestigious award is presented by the Governor on behalf of the Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation to individuals who have “gone the extra mile” for Kiwanis, either through exceptional committee work or service performance.

Kerley was noted for her compassionate concern for the children of La Paloma Elementary School, where she presides as their principal, and for her exceptional management and organizational skills. Schuette was recognized for his sustained performance of duties as Project Growth Coordinator in increasing the club’s membership.

Anyone interested in learning more about the Fallbrook Club and its community service activities should contact President Tom Myers or Secretary Walt Schuette by visiting the club’s Web site at http://www.fallbrook-kiwanis.org.
