Local grower is elected to the Board of Directors of The Cycad Society

FALLBROOK – Keith Huber, owner of Palm and Cycad Exchange in Fallbrook, has been elected to serve a four-year position on the 11-member board of The Cycad Society, an international organization.

The Cycad Society is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of cycads through education and scientific research. The organization was founded in 1977 and hosts an annual meeting of its members at a different locale each year.

Huber, who has grown cycads for over 40 years, has operated Palm and Cycad Exchange in Fallbrook since 2003. He grows, sells, and brokers palms and cycads.

“Cycads make magnificent statement plants in gardens, and are a good way to get the tropical look, even in a drought tolerant garden,” said Huber.
