Mutual Funds Advisory Program features choices

BONSALL — The Edward Jones Advisory Solutions is a new annual fee-based program that allows investors with more than $100,000 to invest to select from 24 fully discretionary Research Models constructed by Edward Jones’ Investment Policy Advisory Committee and Mutual Fund Research Team Custom model.

Each of the models has a specific objective and investment strategy and may include a combination of mutual funds and exchange traded funds (ETFs).

Alternatively, following guidelines from the firm’s Investment Policy Advisory Committee, investors can work with their financial advisor to construct a Custom Model from the program’s list of mutual funds and ETFs, creating a portfolio highly customized to their needs.

Edward Jones is a dually registered broker-dealer and investment adviser.

Edward Jones Advisory Solutions is a mutual fund and ETF advisory program that provides model and customized portfolios.

I am pleased with the honest advice that is offered by my Edward Jones Investment Advisor. I have been Invested in the Advisory Solutions Program for a year, and it seems to be a good decision for me.

I have been a Jones client for many years, some good, some not. My FA is pushing Advisory Solutions, but I’m not convienced that it will produce better results given the additional cost. Any thought on Advisory Solutions?

I have been invested in Advisory Solutions for about a year and a third. It seems to be a very good program particularly in a bad economy. I am currently earning about 14% interest.

I was probably on track to recover all of my losses with my mutual funds as of August 2009 as with Advisory Solutions since then. The advantages are that it is structured to absorb a loss better whereas my mutual funds alone were not and it is managed by a research team that has access to information about companies, funds, or ETF’s that most private investors do not have.

I have been invested in Advisory Solutions for about 11/3 years. The results have been better than the results from mutual funds that I had with Edward Jones for seven years previously and I was satisfied with their results too and was also slow to change over.

I purchased a fund through Edward Jones years ago, now nearing retirement I met with FA at our local E.J. office. Will be trying Advisory Solutions to see how it goes.
