Organic Growers Seminar deemed successful

TEMECULA - Nearly 100 growers attended an August 15 Organic Growers Seminar organized by the Fallbrook and Temecula locations of L&M Fertilizer.

Held at the Temecula City Hall conference center, growers were updated on a variety of issues facing organic farmers. Topics included information on insects and diseases, including the Asian Citrus Psyllid that has invaded California.

Organic farmers were taught about new technology that will help fight the ACP insect, as well as nutritional programs and products effective against HLB virus, greening disease. Other topics included organic inputs and crop protection, certification, and direct tree injections, with over a dozen vendors on hand to further discussions. This is the forth in a series of organic meetings put on by L&M with the goal to see local organic farmers thrive.
