Pala Mesa is generous with amenities

Pala Mesa Resort is listening to its guests and meeting planners by including many of its services and amenities in the room rate instead of adding it on in the form of surprise surcharges, resort fees or parking charges.

“The Pala Mesa Resort has never had a resort fee or charged guests for parking, but in the past we did charge for Internet access, local calls and long-distance calls within our 760 area code. When we upgraded our fitness center and added wireless Internet, we were tempted to charge a resort fee, but in listening to our guests, we realized bundling these services into our room rate would be a much better approach,” said Jan McCormick, general manager of Pala Mesa Resort. “With many of our competitors charging for local calls, Internet access, parking and resort fees, we feel we offer a great value and we certainly eliminate those nasty surprises at checkout.”

Free amenities now include: local phone calls, free wireless Internet in guest rooms, parking, hotel lobby Internet use, tennis racket rentals, 45-minute golf clinics Tuesdays through Saturdays, golf club rentals (up to five clubs) for putting/chipping/driving practice facilities, a small bucket of golf balls and use of the resort’s fitness center.
