San Luis Rey Downs Thoroughbred Training Center

Senator Bill Morrow and staff assistant Sandra Fox enjoyed a morning visit with Bonsall Chamber of Commerce President Leigh Ann Howard at San Luis Rey Downs Thoroughbred Training Center on February 4. Leigh Ann is the general manager of the facility.

San Luis Rey Downs is a world class thoroughbred training center located in the community of Bonsall. The training center is full of horses preparing and racing on the southern California thoroughbred racing circuit.

Senator Morrow was very interested in seeing the training center during the morning with all the activity: horses galloping on the two tracks, horses swimming in the equine pool, horses circling in the arena, and horses jogging over the trails. He said, “Although I was aware of the existence of this training center, I had no idea what an awesome place we have hidden away in the Bonsall hills.”
