Chairman/Planning for Festival of Arts

Members of the Bonsall Woman’s Club and 10 other woman clubs in the area enjoyed a “Fabulous 50’s Fantasy” at the Palomar District Festival of Arts on Saturday, February 13. Art, Crafts, Photography, Literature, Music and Drama were the highlights of the event. Entries submitted by the members of the clubs were judged by experts in that field. All “Best of Show” winners will go on to compete in the California Federated Women Club Art Festival in May. We were all so pleased to see the beautiful art works. There are so many talented ladies in the clubs.

We thank Chairman Patricia Aspray for planning the event with a delicious luncheon and all the little details necessary to make this a happy day. Mary Jane Poulter, district art chairman, had the responsibility of the Art, Photography and Literature divisions. The Bonsall Woman’s Club Chorus, directed by Cheryl Zales, sung over twenty 50’s songs to keep with the theme of the Festival of Arts.

Numerous volunteers as well as Club Art Chairman Sharon Sudak, Photography Chairman June Bernesser, and Literature Chairman Pat Connolly devoted many hours to make this a successful event.

Bonsall Rotary

Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) is a program focused on developing and enhancing leadership skills. It is given every spring by the Bonsall and other San Diego area Rotary clubs for near 300 high school juniors.

The students are chosen for their leadership potential and attend an all-expense paid leadership training, to build, enhance and fine-tune their skills. These skills will help them in their future life, community and business.

RYLA helps students create life-changing events and new friendships, from information exchanged and motivation received, from finding increased self-worth and the knowledge that leadership and selfless service can have huge impact in our world and each of us as individuals. Past students, now adults in our community, have credited RYLA as a most significant program impacting the outcome of their lives.

Please contact the Bonsall Rotary at P. O. Box 934, Bonsall, CA 92003, or call Anton Kokke (760) 945-9347.
