Supervisors allocate $6,000 for Bonsall Community Center PA system

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors allocated $6,000 for a public address system for the Bonsall Community Center.

The 4-0 vote January 5, with Supervisor Greg Cox at the National Association of Counties meeting in Washington, allocates $6,000 in District Five Community Projects funds to the Bonsall Community Center Association for the purchase of a public address system for the community center. The supervisors’ action also authorizes the county’s Chief Financial Officer to execute a grant agreement establishing terms for the receipt of the funds.

The Bonsall Community Center is divided into four units through the use of folding walls. Any speaker system needs to accommodate each separate unit for ongoing meetings. In addition to community groups and individuals who utilize the community center, organizations who hold regular meetings there include the Bonsall Union School District and the Bonsall Sponsor Group, and the county’s Department of Parks and Recreation also holds meetings at the community center.

The professional public address system to be purchased consists of a mixer, six two-way ceiling speakers, a microphone system, a hand-held system, an amplifier, and other necessary equipment for the system.

The supervisors also allocated $20,000 in District Five Community Projects funds to the Navy League of the United States for Homefront San Diego projects, including the purchase of television sets for wounded Marines at Camp Pendleton Hospital and Balboa Naval Hospital.
