Fallbrook Tree officially lit for the holiday season
North County residents continued returning to their homes today as firefighters have reached 90 percent containment on a wildfire that scorched 4,100 acres between Fallbrook and Oceanside.

North County residents this morning are continuing to return to their evacuated homes – some unharmed, some destroyed – as firefighters have reached 80 percent containment on the Lilac Fire that scorched 4,100 acres between Fallbrook and Oceanside.
The County Board of Supervisors Monday, Dec. 11, voted to waive permit fees for the rebuilding of more than 200 structures that have been destroyed or damaged in the Lilac Fire.
All evacuation orders for the Lilac Fire were lifted today after crews managed etch fire lines around 60 percent of the blaze.
