Bonsall third graders succeed with iPads

BONSALL – At the end of last school year, Bonsall Elementary teacher Tabitha Stillman wrote a grant for iPads through http://www.donorschoose.org, an online charity that supports educators with grants, supplies, books, and technology. It is solely funded through generous donations.

Stillman’s grant was picked up by anonymous donors and The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and she received five iPads for her third grade classroom beginning this school year. The class also received personalized Bonsall Union School District covers for the iPads through the school district.

Stillman said, “The iPads help promote research and independent learning through guided centers in my room, 607. I have taught the students to create video lessons, do research, analyze stories, read eBooks, and utilize Jiji, our new math program this year.”

She added, “Student engagement has flourished with our new technology!”
