Car club funds Robo Tech program at Boys & Girls Club

FALLBROOK – Thanks to a donation from the Fallbrook Vintage Car Club, members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of North County will have the opportunity to take part in a RoboTech program. A national Boys and Girls Club program, RoboTech is part of the club’s S.T.E.M. initiative (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) which will help members learn valuable academic skills that they don’t have the opportunity to learn in school.

RoboTech offers an easy and fun way for students ages 6 to 18, to learn the basics of robotics using Lego Mindstorms, a self-contained kit that provides an introduction for groups to build and program a robot that interacts with its environment in numerous ways.

With the donation received from the Vintage Car Club, one RoboTech kit can now be purchased and the program’s concept can be introduced to the children.

When presented with the donation, Allison Barclay, CPO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of North County, extended her thanks and appreciation for the donation and said she is very excited to be able to implement the new program.
