Fallbrook Girl Scouts learn about cultures

FALLBROOK — Fallbrook Girl Scouts Service Unit, led by Debbie Mericle, recently celebrated World Thinking Day. Thinking Day is a time of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides to celebrate international friendship and world peace. Troops come together representing different countries and offering foods, arts, crafts, skits, songs and dances. The girls in this community love it. Junior Troop 4148, with the help of Cadette Troop 4407, hosted the event in an effort toward their Bronze Award. This award is the highest award a Junior Scout can earn. Troop leader Elizabeth Paige, along with co-leader Lucy Parks, commented on the amazing ability of these girls: “Our girls are the most amazing group of young girls a volunteer parent could imagine working with.” “I love these girls.” The girls gathered weekly with great enthusiasm, demonstrating the ability to plan, organize and follow through together with their peers.
