Finally over

Finals are winding down; only a few days left! After finals many students will be relieved to start fresh with a new semester. Students who wish to participate in a spring sport must make sure their athletic packets are turned in soon. See the office of Mrs. Schulte (our athletic director) for more details.

The winter formal dance at Fallbrook High School was a great success. Congratulations to the Winter Court King and Queen, Aaron Holt and Bethany Lackey. The Princes and Princesses were Brittany Vojak, Jesse Ortega, Kayde Hensley, Tamara Fleischmann, and Jose Barrera. The dance took place at the NCO Club on Camp Pendleton. There was a great turnout and everyone danced the night away!

There has been a correction for Eighth Grade Orientation at FHS. It will take place on February 15 from 6-8 p.m. All English speakers should report to the Bob Burton Center for Performing Arts, and all Spanish speakers should report to room 201.

Fallbrook High School is proud to have a new ASB advisor take position at the new semester. Mr. Josh Way will be taking over as ASB advisor for Mr. Travis Benintendo. Mr. Benintendo was promoted to assistant principal. Mr. Way was the AP government teacher and also taught ELD classes. This is his second year teaching at FHS and we all know he will do a fabulous job running our ASB program.

Spring musical open auditions for “Anything Goes” will be held on Monday, January 31, from 3:30-7 p.m. in room 302. Students should sign up for an audition time in room 302 and be prepared to sing a ballad and an upbeat tune. The show dates for this musical will April 22 & 23 and 28 & 29. If you (or your parents) think you have talent, give it a shot!

Community support is always appreciated at the Fallbrook High athletic events. This week our varsity girls and boys basketball teams compete against Carlsbad High on Friday, January 28, at 6:15 and 8:00 p.m. The games last week were very exciting, as the girls team only lost to Oceanside by two points and the boys team won decisively. Boys soccer will play at Carlsbad on the 27th and at home against Vista on the 1st of February. Girls soccer will play against the same teams at opposite sites. Our wrestling team takes on El Camino tonight at 7:00 in the gym. Come show Warrior spirit!
