Pala B&G Club receives $45,000

PALA — The Boys and Girls Clubs of North County has been awarded a $45,000 grant by the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) to implement a Diabetes Prevention Program at the Boys and Girls Club/Pala Unit.

The TRAIL (Together Raising Awareness for Indian Life) program was designed to promote understanding of diabetes; reinforce healthy mental, physical, emotional and spiritual lifestyles; and encourage the best nutrition practices. The components of the TRAIL program are strongly centered on learning to make positive choices.
