St. Peter's continues winning ways

FALLBROOK — The month of March was a winning month for St. Peter’s Catholic School. In addition to their admirable performance earlier in the month at the San Diego Diocese’s Academic Decathlon, St. Peter’s has garnered several more prestigious wins.

The Serra Club sponsors an essay contest every year at St. Peter’s and this year the topic was “How Will You Respond to Jesus’ Call, ‘Come and Follow Me?’ ” First- and second-place winners, respectively, were Paige Mullin and Carrie Jercinovich, both eighth grade students.

On Wednesday, March 16, three St. Peter’s eighth grade students participated in the Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair along with over 1,000 other San Diego area students. In the Microbiology Junior Division, Katelyn Ridgeway won first place and has qualified to participate in the California Science Fair. She also won a professional award from the San Diego Society of Health Systems Pharmacists. In the Behavioral/Social Sciences Junior Division, Brittany Bailey took a second place award. And in the Medicine and Health Junior Division, Sarah Lamont received a fourth place award.
