Sullivan takes second in academic decathlon

Congratulations to the Sullivan Middle School Academic Decathlon Team! Members Taylor Bashara, Matt Kabrel, Ryan Victor, Matt Day, Bryan Flynn, Raj Dharmapal, Beau Albright, Kelsey Meier, Miranda Kennedy, Derek Fletes, AJ Sanchez, Daniel Lusher, Kellen Shanahan and Brennan Fagrell brought back the second place prize for their outstanding efforts. The end results were a tie, but Sullivan finally claimed the second place spot after eight rounds of on-the-spot tiebreaking questions. We are very proud of your success! Sullivan also would like to thank Mrs. Dudar and Mrs. Pearne for coaching the team.

Also, congratulations to Jacob Kelly-Tuttle for representing Sullivan in the County Spelling Bee. Jacob won the Sullivan bee and then went on to do very well in the county competition. We couldn’t have had a better representative!

The yearbook committee has just finished collecting artwork sent in by the students to be posted at the end of the 2004-05 yearbook. Also, eighth-graders have sent in their “Final Thoughts,” which are small farewell wishes to Sullivan, and also their votes for “Student Standouts,” which included categories such as “Best Laugh” and “Most Likely to Become a Millionaire.” We can for sure look forward to a superb memoir of the year’s best highlights.
