Young ladies win scholarships

SAN MARCOS- The 13th Annual Adelante Mujer 2005 event “Today’s Girls, Tomorrow’s Leaders” will take place at Cal State San Marcos on Saturday, March 26. Keynote speakers for the inspirational event will include two granddaughters of Cesar E. Chavez — Christine Chavez Delgado and Julie Chavez Rodriguez.

Leticia Maldonado Stamos reports this year that 110 girls and mothers have signed up from Fallbrook Union Elementary School District for the event. The event provides great workshops for girls and mothers on many topics. It also includes important information on college and careers. The event runs from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at CSUSM, 333 S.
