Zion Lutheran collects footwear for international drive

Zion Lutheran School collected more than 300 pieces of footwear during the Shoes for Souls drive held last November.

The school collected 232 pairs of shoes, 68 pairs of socks, and 16 pairs of shoelaces. The footwear will be donated to Third World countries through Buckner International, which manages the Shoes for Souls program.

The shoes, socks, and shoelaces are all new. The entire school, which covers preschool as well as kindergarten through eighth grades, participated in the program during the three weeks of November in which the school was in session. The items donated range from toddler to adult footwear.

The shoes are usually sent to orphanages and are usually sent to the country most in need at the time.
