Dick Fox's Golden Boys – Frankie Avalon, Bobby Rydell, and Fabian come to Pala Aug. 3

PALA – Dick Fox’s Golden Boys – starring Frankie Avalon, Fabian and Bobby Rydell will perform at 5 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 3 in the events center at Pala Casino Spa & Resort. All three, from Philadelphia, Penn., became teen idols in the 1950s and ‘60s and today are recognized as rock and roll legends credited with helping create the music phenomenon.

Avalon charted 31 U.S. Billboard singles from 1958 to ‘62 with “Venus,” “De De Dinah,” and “From Bobby Sox to Stockings.”

Fabian Forte rose to fame after several appearances on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand. He charted 11 U.S. Billboard singles including “Turn Me Loose,” “Hound Dog Man,” and his biggest hit, “Tiger.”

Rydell was a popular local singer with several Philly bands and his career took off in 1959 with his first solo hit, “Kissin’ Time.” His later hits, “Wild One” and “Volare” made him an international star.

The three stars will combine their talents on several songs and perform a tribute to Elvis Presley, Bobby Darin, Rick Nelson and Bill Haley. The show also will include a segment with rare footage from the Bandstand era and a dance contest that will engage audience participation.
