'East of Eden' showing April 10

FALLBROOK — This Sunday, April 10, the Friends of the Fallbrook Library will present the film “East of Eden” at the Mission Theater, 231 N. Main, Fallbrook. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. Admission is free and no reservations are necessary. All seats will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Based on the book by John Steinbeck, “East of Eden,” starring James Dean, was nationally released on April 10, 1955. Steinbeck is the featured author for this year’s Community Read and the Friends are celebrating all of the works of Steinbeck as well as the 50th anniversary of this classic film.

The works of Steinbeck will also be the subject of discussion at the April 14 session of Book Talk. All are welcome. The group meets the second Thursday of the month from September to June (except December), 1:30 p.m., at the FPUD facility, 990 E. Mission.
