Free recording sessions

OCEANSIDE — MiraCosta College’s recording arts students need to learn how to do studio recordings. And, there are probably a lot of local musicians who would love to have their musical group recorded — especially if it’s free.

So here’s the musical, win-win situation: Local musical groups of any musical style (no soloists, please) are invited to contact the college during the months of February and March to sign up for one three-hour recording session at the Oceanside campus. The sessions will be held during Recording Arts class times on either Monday evenings or Thursday afternoons. The recording arts students will get real-world experience and musicians will receive a free CD of their recording session.

For more information and/or to request a session, e-mail the Music Department’s instructional assistant at [email protected]. Be sure to list the type of music you play, how long your group has been playing together, the number and type of instruments in the group, and the number of vocalists. Also, provide a short list of your group’s performance history. Someone from the Music Department will contact you shortly after receiving your e-mail.
