'Let's get Loud' a success at FUHS

On April 15 and 16 at the Bob Burton Performing Arts Center, the dance department at Fallbrook High School put on their annual dance production, titled “Let’s Get Loud” this year. The performers involved were members of the Performance Dance class, the Advanced Dance class and a guest male dancer. It certainly was a night of modern dance and loud music. Some of the music played was Black Eyed Peas, Shania Twain, Seal, Britney Spears, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and featured soundtracks from the Broadway musical “Cabaret” and “Moulin Rouge.” There were many different styles of dancing, from ballet to hip-hop to tap-dance to modern dance.

The choreographers for this event were Kate Dixon, Sarah Stevens, Jessica Linton, Magi Macek, Sarah Ussher, Marlaina Schroeder, Kendra Jorde, Lindy Pata, Alison Shagena, Lisa Stickles, Amy Taylor, Emily Carle, Carrie Catlin, Ashley Colburn, Lexy Mastroianni, Marissa Pfafflin, Aimee Akeridge, Alyssa Cyran, Lynita Hernandez, Krystal Stranger, Jessica Blazi and Kelley Menden.

The second-to-last performance was probably the more emotional of the evening. It was “One in a Million” from the “Miss Congeniality” soundtrack and was performed by the seniors in Performance Dance. It was their last dance performance at Fallbrook High School.

By the end of the night, there was a nearly sold-out theater of proud parents and friends and emotional dancers holding large bouquets of flowers. All the performers, dancers and choreographers worked hard and practiced long hours for this, and it paid off.
