'Monky Business' opens Sept. 9

VISTA — “Monky Business” is the story of five fun-loving monks from St. Bernard’s. They have 24 hours to raise $250,000 or they will lose their merry monastery to a greedy land owner who plans on turning the place into “Bernie’s Casino and Tackle Shop.” The good people at the local religious radio station, WGOD, allow the monks to use the airwaves so they may hold a telethon to raise the money they so desperately need. During the course of the evening they sing, they dance, they sell products for their sponsors. But it’s going to take a miracle to raise the kind of money they need. All the while, the ‘big bad’ himself has planted one of his minions among the monks to thwart them at every turn.

The show will open September 9 and run through October 2 at the Broadway Theater in Vista. The phone number for tickets is (760) 806-7905.
