Movie subjects are stranded in the New Zealand wilderness

OCEANSIDE – The North County Film Club kicks off its new season with the Sundance Film Festival favorite, "The Hunt for the Wilderpeople." Directed by Taika Waititi, this film is about a national manhunt for a boy (Julian Dennison) and his foster father (Sam Neill) after they get stranded in the New Zealand wilderness.

With the beautiful scenery of New Zealand and amazing cinematography, it’s a real stunner. Told from the child’s innocent perspective this is a story of survival, family and humor.

This charming film will be shown on Sunday, Jan. 22, 3 p.m. at the Digiplex Theater, Mission and College, Oceanside. For further details, call (760) 500-1927.
