Musical comedy murder of 1940

In just a few short weeks the sensation of the season is hitting the Bob Burton Center for the Performing Arts. Musical Comedy Murder of 1940 is coming! This brilliantly scripted play topped by a hilarious cast led by the tremendously talented direction of Ms. Villane is a guaranteed entertainer. I recently had the pleasure of visiting with the cast during one of their lengthy rehearsals and was able to interview a few of the cast members. Kris Witscher, playing the eccentric Elsa, jokes about how she “straight up bribed” her way in. However anyone who has seen her perform in the past knows that no amount of money could buy a talent like hers. Mark Larson, playing the less-than-comedic comedian Eddie, graciously took a moment out of his time to describe the training he under-went in order to be up to the task of playing this larger-than-life character, “An intense workout involving marathons, aisle running, yoga three times a week, G-force training, and a strict diet of haggis and sauerkraut.” As you can see, Mark’s sense of humor is quite similar to his characters. Becca Mhyre, playing the German maid with a secret, takes on an extremely optimistic tone when she states that her favorite scene is “any scene where I get beat up or killed - which is almost every scene.”

You can see this group of wildly enthusiastic and exceptionally talented actors and actresses for yourself during their performances on Nov. 4th, 5th, 10th, and 12th at 7:30 p.m. in the performing arts center. Tickets are available at the door for $10 for adults and $8 for children under 12, ASB cardholders, and seniors.
