Pianist John Redford performs A Concert for Missions

FALLBROOK — On Saturday, June 4, Dr. John Redford performed a concert of piano music in Fallbrook at the home of Jack and Kay Dundas to benefit the missions program of Grace Presbyterian Church Fallbrook. The concert included works by Schubert, Chopin, Debussy and Lecuona. Concert attendees were delighted and amazed by Dr. Redford’s performance and the grace with which his fingers flew across the keyboard.

Dr. Redford is the pianist for Grace Presbyterian Church Fallbrook and the organist for Fallbrook Presbyterian Church. Those who have enjoyed Dr. Redford’s playing at church were thrilled at this opportunity to experience the full spectrum of his talent. Dr. Redford has a Doctor of Musical Arts in piano performance and musicology and has performed throughout the world. He is the music librarian at Biola University.

Concert attendees were invited to participate in a free-will offering in support of the missionaries sponsored by Grace Presbyterian Church Fallbrook. Bruce Summers, Missions Committee Chair, commented, “Many of our missionaries around the world are currently struggling financially due to the devaluation of the dollar. We are so very grateful to John for his support in donating his incredible talent and time. In fact, the concert was his idea.”

Over 70 community members attended the concert.
