Stokes to hold 'The Last Picture Show'

FALLBROOK – Longtime Fallbrook resident artist Brett Stokes is celebrating his time here with a final Fallbrook showing of his work, which will be entitled The Last Picture Show. The show will be held on Saturday, March 27, from 4 to 8 p.m., in the Brett Stokes Studio/Gallery at 732 W. Elder Street.

The show may be the last opportunity for locals to view or collect original paintings by Stokes, often referred to as a hometown son. His works can be found about town as murals created for schools, commercial buildings and in private residences.

Stokes moved to Fallbrook with his family in 1956, although he occasionally lived elsewhere for short times. He has always referred to the friendly village as his home. He has continuously supported local entities such as the Boys and Girls Club, REINS therapeutic horsemanship program and other help-oriented causes. His belief in giving back was instilled by his parents, Clifford and Avis Stokes, longtime advocates of giving back to the community.

Admission to the show is free. Native flutist, Ironhand, will provide musical entertainment. For more information, call (760) 420-8656.
