Taylor and Wild Oats in concert

FALLBROOK — Judy Taylor has opened for such luminaries as Doc Watson, Gary Morris and Bill Monroe and has been featured on local television networks. She has been a regular family concert act at the San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Sea World and other stages across the country and in Europe, Mexico and Canada. Her show is a blend of good music and just plain fun, as her Fallbrook audience attested to last summer. Taylor and her all-woman band, Wild Oats, are back by popular request.

Judy grew up in the backcountry of East San Diego. She earned a small salary by herding cattle on a working ranch and then went on to train horses. It didn’t take her long to realize music might be a little easier and safer than the cowgirl life.

Judy still has the presence of a country girl. Her passion for Wild West skills shows up in fancy trick roping and an occasional Patsy Montana yodel. Though she loves the west, backed by her band, Wild Oats, they play music from a variety of roots — country, Cajun, Spanish and classic rock — all aimed at giving the audience a good time.

Judy Taylor and Wild Oats appear in Fallbrook Saturday, August 13, at 7:30 p.m. at Hilltop Center, 331 East Elder. Tickets are sold at Major Market and at the door. Call (760) 723-7255 for information.
