Tips for Dining Out

Sushi Burrito

Yama Restaurant and Sushi Bar, located at 1067 South Main Street (Next to the Do-It-Center), serves a delicious ‘Sushi Burrito,’ which is spicy tuna, avocado, cucumber and cilantro wrapped in rice paper. The cilantro and avocado give it a bit of a Mexican flavor. This delicious combination is $6.95 and is a refreshing and healthful treat!

Italian Combo Sandwich

Dominick’s Deli (1672 South Mission Road) serves a great ‘Italian Combo Sandwich,’ which is an Italian roll stuffed with three different types of meat: cotto salami, coppocola, and mortadella. It is then layered with provolone cheese, tomato, lettuce, onion, pepperoncini peppers, oil and vinegar and mayonnaise. The sandwich has a bit of a smoky flavor, which may come from the provolone or the mortadell, or both. You pay $4.35 for six inches worth of sandwich and $6.55 for 10 inches. It’s a lot of sandwich for very little!

Caesar Salad

Trupiano’s (corner of Main and Aviation) Italian restaurant serves up one of the tastiest Caesar salads I have ever enjoyed. The generous amount of lettuce leaves are thoroughly tossed with the fantastic dressing and the freshly grated cheese is a tangy topper! It’s the perfect starter for one of their tasty entrees – like their great lasagna.

Nessy Burger

At the intersection of State Route 76 and Old Highway 395 is a little trailer that serves big hamburgers. It’s called Nessy Burger and the hamburgers are huge and a meal in themselves. When I am in the mood for a hamburger, I run down to Nessy Burger and eat an old-fashioned hamburger with everything on it. It’s comfort food at its best!
