Healthcare district grant deadline April 15

FALLBROOK — Due to transition to a new board and a significant staff change, the Fallbrook Healthcare District has announced the deadline for grant applications for the 2005-2006 year has been extended to April 15. They have also extended the submission of Letters of Intent to April 15 for grant year 2005-2006. The board reports it has concluded funding for 2004-2005 with an award presentation slated for the Fallbrook Healthcare District Board meeting of April 13.

The Fallbrook Healthcare District is a public agency that was formed in 1950 with a mission to assess, plan and support efforts to meet healthcare needs of the community. The board has taken a conservative approach to the grant program, giving greater emphasis on preparing for the potential future facility needs of the community while still supporting organizations providing more traditional approaches to healthcare in the community. The board encourages organizations or entities with broad healthcare client bases to pursue matching funds from other sources and to work aggressively toward becoming independent of district funding or assuring ongoing support from multiple sources.

For information and to request a copy of the district’s Grant Application Letter of Intent requirements, please call (760) 731-9187.

Grant funding will be on an annual cycle with Letters of Intent due in February of each year with review of the accepted Grant Applications extending through April and May. Grant award presentations will be made on or around July 1 of each year.
