Integrated Healing Arts helps patients heal themselves

“My goal for patients is to teach them how to heal themselves,” said Dr. Dean Robinson of the Integrated Healing Arts medical practice in Fallbrook. “If I can give someone a way to be independent of me, then I think I’ve done them a real favor.”

At Integrated Healing Arts the goal is not just to manage pain, but through lifestyle changes help the patients heal themselves. As a result, the patients come away with much more than just renewed health; they will come away with a solid idea on how to facilitate lifestyle changes in order to live healthier lives.

Dr. Robinson has twenty-seven years of experience as a chiropractor but opened the Fallbrook practice in October. Over the last three years he has integrated other healing disciplines to create a multi-disciplinary practice. “It has been a metamorphosis,” he said. The change occurred over a period of time and began when something was stirred within him. “It became obvious to me that offering chiropractic care only was very limiting,” he explained, “limiting not only to my professional ability, but to the patient. Now, I am a business manager of a multi-disciplinary practice.”

Gathering information in order to view the entire scope of patients’ conditions is very rewarding for Dr. Robinson. He enjoys the challenge of the research and problem solving. “It’s like detective work,” he mused. “I consult with patients to help them determine the best course of action. We use a multi-disciplinary approach to healing because many conditions cannot be dealt with by just one discipline.” Once the root problem is determined, Dr. Robinson is able to engage in diagnostic studies to either confirm the suspicions or rule them out. He then assesses the situation in order to match the clients’ needs with the correct approach to care.

Many of his patients come to him after trying other treatments and are not sure where to turn. Dr. Robinson explains that with a population that is dominated by people age fifty and over the conditions aren’t always simple. “One condition complicates another and trying to find out where to start is a challenge — but I enjoy coming up with solutions,” he said.

Integrated Healing Arts is a multi-disciplinary clinic, not just a chiropractic office, and offers pain management, clinical neurophysiology, treatment of movement disorders, chiropractic care, functional rehabilitation, massage, nutrition, weight management and acupuncture. The office has neurologist Kaleem Uddin, MD, on staff as well as a certified massage therapist.

Through the clinic’s efforts patients are able to cope better with their life situations. “This gives me the ultimate satisfaction,” he said. It is something good that Dr. Robinson is doing and something that will definitely outlive him.

Integrated Healing Arts is located at 577 East Elder Street, Suite E, in Fallbrook. The telephone number is (760) 728-8999.
