Matlack finishes Rock & Roll Marathon

Margaret Matlack, Realtor RE/MAX United, just completed 26.2 miles in the Phoenix Rock & Roll Marathon in Arizona to raise funds to cure cancer. Margaret, a member of Team in Training, the fundraising arm of the American Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, is preparing for her fourth marathon and her third season as a mentor to other teammates while training.

The Team in Training program is preparing for the San Diego Rock & Roll Marathon on June 5 and the Anchorage Marathon on June 18. It is anticipated there will be over 300 San Diego County Team in Training runners with a total over 5,200 national Team in Training runners in these two events.

The moneys raised through this program are making a big difference. Twenty-five years ago only five percent of children diagnosed with leukemia survived. Today, 73 percent of children with leukemia will live thanks to the research funded by people involved in projects like Team in Training.
