New commanding officer for Naval Hospital

CAMP PENDLETON — Navy Capt. Richard R. Jeffries relinquished his duties as commanding officer, Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, to Navy Capt. Steven M. Nichols in a ceremony at the hospital on July 27 at 9 a.m.

Capt. Nichols comes to NHCP after serving as executive officer, Naval Hospital, Camp Lejeune, NC.

Capt. Jeffries, who has been selected for Rear Admiral (lower half), will transfer to Washington, DC, and head the newly created Future Operations office at the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery.
