AAUW Garden Tour set for Saturday, May 7

One of Fallbrook’s most outstanding events — the AAUW Country Garden Tour — again this year will feature five of the finest and most creative garden sites anywhere. The Association of University Women’s 2005 presentation will kick off at noon from the Palomares House on Stage Coach Lane and continue until 5 p.m.

Selections this year will give “inside the gates” viewing opportunities of the extensive gardens and backyards of some of the fine homes that have made Fallbrook famous. At each location there will be docents to answer guests’ questions about these unique and colorful garden sites.

All five of the selected sites this year offer extensive views across the green hillsides that surround them. Several include innovative vegetable gardening areas as well as lush landscaping and flower gardens… with ideas that you can use in your own home gardens.

There will be light refreshments served to guests at the Palomares house while they browse among the vendors who have been invited to show a variety of garden-related or handmade items for sale. On tour, guests will be free to stay as long as desired at each location throughout the afternoon before driving to the next site.

Tickets to the Country Garden Tour cost just $15 each and are available through Fallbrook and Bonsall AAUW members or can be purchased at the Palomares house during the hours of the event. Proceeds are used by the organization to provide college scholarships and other AAUW projects which benefit the broader community.

This is a perfect Mother’s Day weekend occasion to get out and see some of our area’s finest gardens in spectacular settings!
