Flower show goes to camp

VALLEY CENTER — The eagerly-awaited 25th annual flower show of the Dos Valles Garden Club will be held at Lilac Elementary School, 30109 Lilac Rd., Valley Center, the weekend of April 16-17. The show will be open to the public on Saturday, April 16, from 1:30-5:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 17, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. There is no charge for admission. Refreshments will be served. Visitors, attracted by bargain prices for unusual plants nurtured by the club’s members themselves, come from throughout the county to the outstanding plant sale held in conjunction with the Flower Show.

Visitors will view hundreds of horticultural entries, including everything from trees, fruits and vegetables to annual and perennial flowers. Roses will be very special this year. The outstanding floral designers of the club will compete for top awards in 12 challenging categories, including hanging designs, transparencies, table artistry and underwater design.
