Hatfeld to speak at the Palomar Orchid Society

SAN MARCOS – Nationally prominent orchid grower, hybridizer, orchid judge and lecturer George Hatfield will address the Palomar Orchid Society (POS) membership on pendulous cymbidiums at their monthly membership meeting on Wednesday, April 5, 6:30 p.m., at The Pavilion at The Lodge in Lake San Marcos. Visitors are welcome.

George Hatfield is the current president of the American Orchid Society (AOS), the preeminent and oldest orchid affinity group in the United States. He has also served as chairman of the Cymbidium Society of America (CSA).

Hatfield currently serves as an accredited orchid judge for both the AOS and the CSA. He will be speaking on pendulous cymbidiums, an orchid noted for its cascading flower spikes and smaller size. They are ideally suited for patio culture in Southern California and do not require a green house environment.

Hatfield Orchids pendulous cymbidiums will be on display and in flower at the meeting, and will be available for acquisition through the society's monthly raffle. The Pavilion at Lake San Marcos is located at 1105 La Bonita Drive, San Marcos.
