Robert Turley can build or remodel your dream home

This Fallbrook native and 1983 Fallbrook High School graduate has been busy designing and building homes in the area since 1992. Robert Turley designs homes with the aid of a structural engineer and uses a design aid called an ‘AutoCAD.’ In a much-controlled industry, Turley has been granted permission to design plans for dwellings as large as four units. His homes reflect the flavor of various styles, including Spanish/Santa Barbara, Tuscany, Mediterranean and Ranch.

He especially enjoys “taking people through the whole process,” which begins with the plan development. “I help people to understand traffic flow in a home and help them to decide on the room size,” said Turley. “I also make sure that they don’t over-build or under-build in their area.” The homeowners are involved in the planning process, and thus the home becomes a reflection of their personality.

Because of his framing background, Turley is able to see (in his mind) a project three-dimensionally when he is talking it over with a client. “I can instantly spot problems, which gives me an edge.”

Turley also has experience with electrical work, carpentry and concrete foundations. “I try to be conscientious in all the work,” he said. “Straight walls and a square foundation are really important because if that isn’t right then the rest doesn’t come together.” In addition to designing and building custom homes he assists the client with permit processing. He has also built several ‘spec’ homes in the area.

I was privileged to be able to view a home that Turley had designed and built — a Ranch-style with a Cape Cod influence, which resulted in an All-American look. The Cape Cod-style dormers and porches lend a country flair to the home.

Turley also designed and built the pool and barbeque area in the backyard. He used Arizona flagstone along with sparkling Idaho quartzite to finish the pool area. The twenty-foot barbeque island includes a sink, refrigerator, stove and a custom granite chopping block.

If Robert Turley has a moment to spare, you will find him with Boy Scout Troop 704. He has enjoyed serving as their leader for the past nine years. For the last three years, he could be found hammering into the night as he worked on Fallbrook High School Homecoming float construction. Turley also finds time to coach Little League and youth basketball. He lives in Fallbrook with his wife Sandy, who teaches at Fallbrook Street School, and his four children.
