Rose trimming time

Roses should be trimmed; if not already done, they should be done soon. In trimming mature rose bushes, cut down to about 18 inches and cut out the center branches to create an open center so the remaining branches point outward. The Fallbrook United Methodist Church has a large garden with rose bushes of many colors.

Judy Mitchell is the master of the rose garden. She recently had a sizable crew helping to trim and pick up the trimmings. The crew included Judy Smith, Jack Smith, Chuck Whisnant, Bill Hoffman, Dr. Bob Miller, Jim Dunfrund and Pastor Dennis Ginoza. Some members of the Wednesday Volunteer Group also provided a helping hand.
