28-year-old motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run identified

SAN DIEGO - A 28-year-old motorcyclist killed in a hit-and-run freeway collision in the Fallbrook area was identified today.

Al Aming of San Diego was riding north between traffic lanes on Interstate 15 shortly after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when his 2011 Yamaha R-1 was hit by a cream-colored sedan near state Route 76, according to the California Highway Patrol and county Medical Examiner's Office.

Aming fell to the roadway and was hit by a box truck. He died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a white man who appeared to be in his 30s, did not stop, CHP public-affairs Officer Jim Bettencourt said. A blond man with a red goatee was riding in the vehicle.

The sedan likely sustained damage on the passenger's side door or near the front, and possibly was left with blue paint transfer, according to Bettencourt.

Anyone with information about the crash was asked to call the CHP at (760) 757-1675.
