Airplane tumbles off truck on Interstate 15 near Rainbow/Temecula border

RAINBOW – A small airplane tumbled off a flatbed truck onto northbound Interstate 15 just north of Rainbow, causing the truck to flip over, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Dispatchers received a call at 7:45 p.m. Friday about the crash.

The driver of the flatbed truck swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle that had merged, the CHP reported.

The motion caused the plane to fall off and land upside down. Both vehicles came to rest in the center divider of the freeway near the Border Patrol checkpoint near Temecula, according to the CHP.

No injuries were reported.
